Our Timeline – Click on each year to see our progress
“In 2006, Genix Healthcare bought its first dental clinic in Garforth, Leeds. To support the local community we became the main sponsors of Garforth Town Football Club. By the end of the year, we’d acquired six more clinics. One of these was in Conisborough, Doncaster where, by working closely with Doncaster PCT, an additional 3000 plus patients were given access to an NHS dentist.”
“In 2007, Genix Healthcare opened another six practices spread across the North East of England. In May 2007, we began offering affordable private dental treatment under our Gencare brand. Our Tickhill clinic became our first Gencare-branded practice and our Huddersfield Gencare clinic was the first that we started from scratch rather than refurbishing an existing practice. Our efforts were praised by Vera Baird MP for Redcar and Sir Stuart Bell MP.”
“In 2008, we secured an NHS contract for Huddersfield patients, enabling us to help even more of the thousands of locals who’d been struggling to find an NHS dentist. We also continued to develop our Gencare brand at this practice, providing a wide range of private and cosmetic treatments.”
“In 2009, we won our first NHS tender and since then we have won more than 10 NHS tenders.”
“In this year, we spread our reach across the country, opening practices in Leicester, where we secured an NHS contract, and Blackpool, as well as three more in the North East. We launched our Dental Implantology course in 2010 and began training and mentoring UCLAN dental students in Blackpool.”
“By October 2011, Genix Healthcare had become a national chain with practices across the country, including two in Hampshire and two in Gloucestershire. Our Gloucester practice is our biggest yet with 11 surgeries. This year, we formalised our work to nurture up and coming dentists and dental nurses by establishing an education department. We feel we have a social responsibility to give muchneeded support to those developing their dentistry careers (see pages 13-14). We’re also piloting a new type of NHS contract at our Mexborough clinic, focusing on patient lifestyles and individual care plans to take a preventative approach to oral and dental health. To promote this new pilot contract, Genix Healthcare made its debut on BBC1.”
“Genix has acquired two new practices, one located in Beeston, Leeds and the otherl located in the centre of Edinburgh, Genix’s first dental practice in Scotland. Genix has also improved its education programme by partnering up with a new education provider to enhance the apprentices experience and training. The Genix Healthcare Apprenticeship Programme, run in partnership with accredited Training Providers, will provide comprehensive training support for candidates in a number of apprenticeship programmes.”
“During 2013 Genix Healthcare formed a partnership between with Huddersfield Giants and we are now very proud to support the Huddersfield Giants and look forward to the exciting partnership ahead. To spread the message of healthy living and better oral hygiene, Genix Healthcare regularly attend schools and stage events to get involved and help our community.
We are also the first dental corporate to launch a major apprentice programme in dentistry which will provide more than 100 apprentice places across the UK. At our half year point we are also pleased to announce new additions to our prestigious Management Team.”
This year has seen tremendous progress with Genix Healthcare Apprenticeship Programmes, where aspiring dental nurses and technicians are given full support and training, offering them good career prospects once they are qualified.
This hard work resulted in Genix been recognised as one of the prestigious ‘Top 100 Apprentice Employer’ in November 2014. The award is compiled annually by the National apprenticeship Service and in partnership with city and Guilds and recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.
At the prestigious National Apprenticeship Awards 2014, Genix were also awarded the ‘Highly Commended Award’ for work we are currently doing for apprenticeships.
There has also been exciting progression in dentistry, through the ‘Trailblazers Initiative’, which is employer led and part of the governments strategy, designed to improve quality apprenticeships and to give people the skills employers need to grow and compete within the dental industry.

Why we’re different
Genix Healthcare is different because we’re actively making dentistry accessible and affordable to all via GENCARE. GENCARE is an affordable alternative to NHS or private dentistry and is exclusive to Genix Healthcare. There’s no need to sign up to a monthly payment plan – you just pay one-off costs when you have treatment.
High on Hygiene
Genix Healthcare sets high standards in sterilisation procedures to eliminate the risk of cross infection. We ensure that our dental teams are trained beyond the recommendations of the British Dental Association.
All surgeries are fully computerised and equipped with state-of-the-art dental technology to provide patients with the latest treatments, care and service. Our surgeries have advanced, digital radiography, allowing us to store your treatment records and x-rays together, whilst reducing exposure to radiation.
Our Patient Promise
Genix Healthcare is committed to continually improving clinic standards and patient care.
Since 2011 all dental practices in England are required to be registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission, (CQC). This has given Genix Healthcare an opportunity to demonstrate the high standards of quality and safety that we can offer you.
